Modern Slavery & Ethical Sourcing

Ivory Whisper Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking and forced labour, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (UK). While we currently fall below the statutory turnover threshold for mandatory reporting, we publish this statement voluntarily because transparency is part of what we sell.

Our production is small by design and named where possible:

• Silks — woven by family-owned mills in Como, Italy.
• Leavers lace — produced in Calais and Caudry, France.
• Cotton voile — sourced from GOTS-certified mills in Portugal.
• Cut, make & trim — our London atelier and a long-standing partner workshop in Porto.
• Trims & findings — sourced predominantly in Italy and France.

• We visit our primary suppliers in person at least once a year.
• We require written confirmation of compliance with local labour law, fair pay and safe working conditions.
• We work with suppliers whose worker representation and grievance mechanisms we have reviewed.
• We do not knowingly source materials from regions on credible international risk lists for forced labour.

Atelier staff in London are paid at or above the Real Living Wage. Our partner workshops are paid order rates that support fair wages in their local context, agreed in writing rather than tendered down.

We design pieces to last and to be repaired. We avoid PFCs and unnecessary synthetic finishes, choose recycled packaging, and prefer natural fibres at the highest grade we can responsibly source.
